Author Spotlight: Emily Rose

Thank you for this interview!

What do you do when you’re not writing?

Anything! I usually play with my son, spend time with my fiancé and his girls, read, and watch TV.

When did you start writing?

That is a loaded question. I started writing back in middle school, but it didn’t turn into writing books until 2014. I published my first novel that year and I’ve been writing ever since. I love it and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

If you could go anywhere in the world to start writing your next book, where would that be and why?

Hmm, well, I would have to say somewhere around Seattle. I have a romance thriller that will be set in that area. It would be amazing to actually be able to see the area as I’m writing.

You write a little bit of everything. Which is your favorite to write and why?

Dark romance thrillers would be my favorite. I can write the heck out of dark characters. I’m a rather dark person myself, so I can connect with those characters so well. I love everything about that genre.

If you had 4 hours of extra time today, what would you do?

I would add more words to my thriller.

Where would you like to set a story that you haven’t done yet?

A lot of my novels have been set in the southern part of the United States, but this dark romantic thriller is set in the northwestern, so that would be my pick.

Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is?

This is a funny question because I think my answer will relate to so many other authors. I get my best ideas in the shower! Go figure, and I honestly don’t know why this is. Maybe because you’re relaxed and actually have time to think clearly. I also tend to get ideas when I’m listening to music and I listen to a lot of music.

What are you currently working on? Do you have any new projects released in the coming months? If so, tell us about them.

Right now, I’m working on revising an old novel and writing my dark romance thriller. I also have the second book to my Twisted Novel Duet and I’m working on edits for that one. Book one, Twisted, is published on Amazon and you can get it for free with kindle unlimited.
