Review: Pink Moon by Tonya Coffey

I give Pink Moon 4 stars!

😁😁😁😁

I received a free copy of Pink Moon the third book in The New World Series in exchange for an honest review. Pink Moon is a fantasy romance novel set in a world parallel to this one. I guess it’s parallel the author never really goes into specifics about it. I would have liked to know more about where they were in connection to each other. It’s a completely different world from every other fairy story I have read. The author does a great job building her world and explaining what happened to cause things to be the way they are. The pacing was perfect. I loved it!
I didn’t care for Jessa or Micha. I thought they were weak. They let everyone control their lives and decisions. To me, I would have liked to see Micha stand up for himself and Jessa against the shadows at least a little bit, when he didn’t I lost a little respect for him. Despite not really caring for the main characters I found myself hoping that they would stand up for themselves and each other.

The end killed me and since I am so invested in this story I am patiently waiting for the next book in the series.

Bound Series by AM Hudson

So, this series is a little different then the other series that I have reviewed so far on this blog. It’s more a fantasy series than anything it may be more leaning towards paranormal romance and there is some adult content. It’s not a lot in comparison to some other series I have read but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone under the age of 17.

I was surprised by this series only because I am not one that usually likes vampire books but there have been a couple series that have sucked me in and then I realize OMG they are vampires but at that point I am so into it I have to find out how it ends.

This is one of those series and the vampires in this series are not your run of the mill Hollywood evil sedistic vampires without a soul. That go around killing people just for the hell of it. They are just like any other race with good and bad in everyone which I totally love.

It is set in Australia and it seems that the Author might be Australian as well because the way some of the words are spelled grates on my nerves a little. I am used to American English and everything is spelled in the British English but I’m a freak about spelling so that’s just one of my little pet peeves.

All in all I really liked this series a lot the characters are great the storyline was good and I was sucked in to the story almost from the beginning. So much that I broke my own rule about vampires. I would give it four happy faces! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Perception Series by Lee Straus

The Percetion series is a highly entertaining dystopian series. There is a lot of technology and people who have been genetically altered . It’s scifi straight to the core Zoe and Noah are great characters.

The genetically altered rich girl meets the boy from the wrong side of the tracks who protests openly his dislike for her entire way of life. Β Classic Romeo and Juliet type story with a futuristic twist.

Zoe asks Noah to help her find out what happened to her missing brother and they stumble into something much bigger than either of them could have imagined.

There were a few little things I found while reading the point of view is a little distant but not so much that it took me out of the story and a couple errors here and there but for the most part it was great. I would give it 4 happy faces. Β  Β  Β πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi is a must read πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi is a must read. Her world building skills are phenomenal and the characters are brilliant. Aria the reluctant heroine is one of the most resilient characters that I have ever read about.

Dropped from her comfortable life and left for dead she manages to survive with the help of Peregrine who despises her and all of the dwellers like her. They eventually get past there differences and find that there are much bigger things happening in their world then simply their survival.

The book is eloquent and very well written. I would definitely recommend this series to all of my fellow dystopian lovers out there it is one of the best I have ever read. I would definitely give it 5 happy faces πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Hello Speculative Fiction Readers

About a year ago my sister convinced me to try the Nook app and I was skeptical at first. I always loved the feel of having the book in hand and never really wanted an e-reader but I humored her and downloaded the app for my iPhone and at first I couldn’t put it down until I got to the middle of a series that I really loved and the next book wasn’t available but, it had been published so I decided to try the kindle app. I haven’t put it down since.

I have read close to 400 speculative fiction books mainly self published but also with some traditionally published thrown in there as well. Being an aspiring speculative fiction writer myself I decided that it was time to get out there and start a blog so that

1 I could talk about all the wonderful books I have read over the last year

2 post some of my own short stories most of which were written as prequels to the novel I am currently attempting to get published some are random while others work off my other projects that I am working on.

I will try to post two blogs a week either one of each or two reviews depending how I feel that week. LOL  I hope you enjoy my blog and go on to enjoy the many books I plan to blog about here. Until next time. Happy Reading!
