Thank you for this interview!

What do you do when you’re not writing?

I’m a stay at home mum of a 9 and 3-year-old, which is a full-time job in itself!

When did you start writing?

I think as soon as I could hold a pen! I’ve been scribbling stories down for as long as I can remember.

If you could go anywhere in the world to start writing your next book, where would that be and why?

One of the Greek islands. I love Greek mythology and the landscape in that area of the world is so ruggedly beautiful. Feels like the perfect place to set a romance!

If you had 4 hours of extra time today, what would you do?

More writing! Or more sleep. I get up early every morning so I can get some writing time in before I have to organize the kids for the school run.

Where would you like to set a story that you haven’t done yet?

So far, my books have all been set in the UK (with the exception of Why I Trust You, which has a few scenes in the States). It would be nice to set a story in Europe. Or maybe one of the Greek Islands, so I can combine romance, history, and mythology.

Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is?

Often, a see a face that intrigues me and then my muse starts throwing me character ideas. Characters are the beating heart of my novels, so it makes sense that they are always my starting point.

What are you currently working on? Do you have any new projects released in the coming months? If so, tell us about them.

My latest novel, A Dance For Two, is coming out on the 26th of June. At the moment, I’m working on finalizing its companion book, A Dance For You, which I should be releasing in August. I’m also editing For You I Fall, a paranormal romance, with my co-author, T.N. Nova. It’s going to be the first book in a series and we’re currently just over halfway through the first draft of book 2.

Character Interview

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself!

Tell us who you are and what you do!

My name is Willow and I’m a psychology student.

What do you do for a living?

Is professional student a thing? That’s where I’m at right now.

How old are you?

A lady never tells… 😉

Tell us your story. What is it about and what role do you play?

I’m assigned with Pierce to complete a group project. Best and worst time of my life. Lol

Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?

My curly long locks!

Do you have any birthmarks or tattoos?

Nope, but I wish to have a couple tattoos.

If you could have a superpower what would it be, and why?

To heal the mind. I don’t want people to go through unseen illnesses like me.

What is your biggest pet peeve when dealing with others?

Just overall rude. Or assuming things about me.

What would I love the most about you?

Probably my T-shirt collection. I love graphic tees.

What would I hate the most about you?

Damn. Didn’t think we were gonna dive into this. Maybe just the way I think. And overthink.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

Anyday that depression or anxiety isn’t bringing me down. A day with my guy, my dog, and a sunset.

What’s the best part about being in love?

The feeling. The comfort and warmth that it brings me. I needed it. He keeps me grounded.

Hot weather or cold?

Cold

Dogs or cats?

Dogs

 Who was your first love?

Read my story. 😉

What’s your number one relationship deal breaker and why?

Maybe someone who doesn’t take mental health seriously. It’s a real problem and close to my heart.

How do you take your eggs in the morning?

Over easy. I hate scrambled!

Someone is secretly in love with you. Who is it and how do you feel about that?

Hm! I don’t have anyone off the top of my head. I would feel flattered and if I don’t like them back, I’d feel terrible.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I didn’t have a set career. The one that would allow me to help others.

If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

Recreate my perfect day. Or sing in the rain.

What is the one food you can’t live without?

Cheese!! Is that weird?

If they turned the book into a movie, who would be cast to play you?

I’d have to think on that. Maybe Emma Watson?

Author Spotlight: Tarrah Anders

Thank you for this interview!

What do you do when you’re not writing? If I’m not writing, I’m promoting. If I’m not promoting, I’m working my day job, cleaning the house, spending time with my family. Or kickboxing.

When did you start writing? I don’t believe there was really a time that I can remember that I wasn’t writing. I grew up writing short stories and poems. I began authoring, in 2015.

If you could go anywhere in the world to start writing your next book, where would that be and why? Australia or Italy. I want to go to the outback because it’s always been a dream of mine. And Italy, because that’s where my heritage is. I want to eat all the food, fall in love with the scenery and drink all the wine.

You write a little bit of everything. Which is your favorite to write and why? I personally prefer the second chance trope, I like to give redemptions and feel that everyone should have a do-over.

If you had 4 hours of extra time today, what would you do? Write. I would lock myself up in a room, turn up the music and write. Or sleep. I miss a sound night of sleep..

Where would you like to set a story that you haven’t done yet? In another country. I prefer to write about a landscape that I’ve been before to get the facts down and to have it realistic. I wrote THE BRUTE by having a fictional city and that was difficult even though I could just make it all up.

Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is? I’m a people watcher, we all are by nature. I get a lot of my ideas from wordplay, by someone swiping something off their face, by someone shouting something, by two people having dinner… all situations are an opportunity for me.

What are you currently working on? Do you have any new projects released in the coming months? If so, tell us about them. I have THE BRUTE releasing 06/15 (EDIT TO SAY, JUST RELEASED THIS MONTH/ LAST MONTH?)  I’m currently working on a project that I haven’t given a name to yet. I have one manuscript fully outlined and one about 60% in the process, with a release for August-ish.

The Sweet Spot by Naomi Springthorp

Character Interview

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself!

Huh, my name is Rick Seno.

Tell us who you are and what you do!

I’m the catcher for the San Diego Seals professional baseball team and I have a non-profit organization for kids camps.

What do you do for a living?

Play baseball

How old are you?

I’m 28

Tell us about your story. What is it about and what role do you play?

I’m the hero, which is funny to say because I don’t feel like a hero. I just do my job and lead my team.

Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?

I don’t think there’s anything special about me. I’ve been told I have the best beard in the league. Naomi keeps telling me I have clear blue eyes, I think they distract from her writing.

Do you have any birthmarks or tattoos?

No

If you could have a superpower what would it be, and why?

Invincibility, so all the balls and bats that hit me would bounce off and not leave bruises.

What is your biggest pet peeve when dealing with others?

I hate liars and people that are fake

What would I love the most about you?

Chicks seem to love my ass

What would I hate the most about you?

Probably my work schedule and the fact that I’m a ballplayer. It’s not the reality that people think.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

A long drive with my girl at my side, followed by a night in her bed.

What’s the best part about being in love?

It’s hard for me to contain my grin. I never thought I’d be in love. I had honestly given up. The best part? I’ve found it and I’m never letting it go.

What is your greatest fear?

100mph fastball to the head

Hot weather or cold?

I like warm weather. Nothing like the sun shining on the baseball field.

Dogs or cats?

We always had dogs. Mom was allergic to cats.

Who was your first love?

I’ve never loved anyone before Sherry. I thought I did, but I was wrong. Well, unless you count the poster of Heidi Klume I had on my bedroom wall in high school, but I think that was more lust.

What’s your number one relationship deal breaker and why?

Secrets. It’s hard to get over when you’ve been cheated on.

How do you take your eggs in the morning?

However, Sherry makes them. Usually an omelet.

Someone is secretly in love with you. Who is it and how do you feel about that?

We don’t have secrets. I don’t kiss and tell.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I’ve always wanted to be a baseball player. I focus on what I want and go get it.

If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

Spoil my girl and knock her up.

What is the one food you can’t live without?

Whipped cream

If they turned the book into a movie, who would be cast to play you?

Tom Hardy or maybe Kivanc Tatlitug

Character Interview from Gettin’ Lucky in Kentucky by Tiffany Carby

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself!

Tell us who you are and what you do!

Hi! My name is Beatrix Schuler and my friends call me Trixie!

What do you do for a living?

I own the tavern in Spring City called “Irish Ayes”

How old are you?

Isn’t it rude to ask a lady her age?

Tell us about your story. What is it about and what role do you play?

Well, I’m the star, of course! I’ve gotten myself into a little money trouble, or rather a little money trouble has found me. And, let’s just say I have one heck of a bad luck day…

Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?

Legs for days…

Do you have any birthmarks or tattoos?

I do not have any birthmarks, and no tattoos, yet.

What would I love the most about you?

I’m very friendly and easy to talk to. My tavern customers just love me.

What would I hate the most about you?

I’m a bit materialistic, dear. I’ll just go ahead and admit that.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

A nice quiet picnic with the ravishing Deakon Cavanaugh… sigh.

What’s the best part about being in love?

Being loved in return!

What is your greatest fear?

Can I say homelessness?

Hot weather or cold?

Kentucky weather is just fine for this girl. We have all seasons and I love them all.

Dogs or cats?

Well, seeing as how a dang cat finds its way into my story, I’ll go with the felines.

Who was your first love?

Too many years ago to remember… I thought at one time I loved my latest ex-boyfriend, but you’ll see how that turned out. My last love, however, is mighty fine.

How do you take your eggs in the morning?

I generally leave them in the refrigerator, and stick with my fancy tea from The Wishing Well—Spring City’s coffee shop.

Someone is secretly in love with you. Who is it and how do you feel about that?

It better be Deakon, or we have a whole other mess on our hands…

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always aspired to be doing what I’m doing, just making less mistakes.

If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

Deakon.

What is the one food you can’t live without?

My fancy teas.

If they turned the book into a movie, who would be cast to play you?

My friends always say I resemble Sandra Bullock.

***EXCERPT***
The liquor store down the street was on the way to the diner we ordered food from all the time, so I stopped there first to grab some beer. Opening the refrigeration unit door, I walked in, not really caring what we drank. I grabbed the biggest box of cans they had and started back to the door. That was where everything went totally wrong. As I went to pull the door back someone on the other side pushed it into me. A rock hard chest slammed into me, which had me bouncing off of it falling on my ass. The box in my hand fell to the floor, cracking the cardboard box open as multiple beer cans tumbled out, dousing us in a lovely spray of beer as they were cracked open in the crash.
Sitting on the now beer-soaked ground, I pushed my hair off my face to look up at the demin-clad legs standing in front of me.
“I’m so sorry, are you okay?” A smooth as honey voice asked reaching a hand down to grab mine, but instead of helping me up, he slipped on the slick floor landing directly on top of me. My breath left me in a woosh, and when I managed to open my eyes to see the large weight on top of me, crystal blue eyes were staring down at me.
Of all my clumsiness throughout my life, this one had to rank up there in the top two. Hysterical laughter would have escaped if I were able to manage a large enough breath. Thankfully, the blue-eyed demi-god rolled to the side with a thump and a chuckle.
“I can’t breathe,” I gasped between my laughter.
“Shit, sorry,” he started to get up, but his foot slid and he landed back on top of me, face planted directly on my chest. “Damn it” was the mumble I felt through my clothes.
He rolled back to the side, and my lungs filled with beer-scented oxygen. The beer had finally stopped gushing like a geyser, but the damage had already been done. We were both soaked.
“Here, let me help you up.”
I finally looked at him, really looked at him. My eyes went wide, and red tinted my cheeks as the smile that haunted my dreams the night before beamed down at me. Shit! Of course it’s him!
He wrapped his hand around mine and tingles shot up my arm and between my legs as I blubbered incoherently. “Well, that was an interesting way to meet someone,” the DJ of my dreams snickered. “I’m Brice.”
“I-I know who you are,” I stuttered like an idiot.
“You do?” he asked with a smile that damn near melted my panties clean off. “I’m at a disadvantage, then. What’s your name?”
“C-Courtney.” God I needed to get it together. I tried my damnedest to calm my racing heart. My hand was still in his after he managed to pull me upright, and damn if it was doing nothing to stop the turbulence running through me.
“Nice to meet you, Courtney.” His six foot two height had to look significantly down to my five foot four frame. “Does this sort of thing happen to you often? I have to say, it’s a first for me.”

Gah! I’m such a clutz!
“The falling and making an ass of myself? Oh sure, daily in fact, but usually I don’t take innocent bystanders down with me.”
“Lucky for me.” There was that smile again, along with a cutest damn dimple in his left cheek. He really needed to stop doing that or the beer wouldn’t be the only puddle on the floor.
“Sorry I got beer all over you.” I pulled my hand back and tried to walk away but he didn’t let go of my hand as we walked out of the destroyed refrigeration unit. As much as I wanted to fantasize he had a reason to keep his grip on me, the reality of the situation and the fact that I looked like a drowned rat with red hair plastered to my face, more than likely mascara trailing down my overly freckled cheeks—thanks Dad—had me really wanting to just hide behind whatever rack of beer was closest.
“I’m not,” he said giving me a wink. “Let me get another one for you. Why don’t you… ah… just stay here?” Clearly, he recongnized the walking disaster that was me.
After grabbing two cases, I followed him up to the counter to pay for both of our purchases. It was the very least I could do.
“Marco, I’m so sorry. Charge me for all three cases, please,” I said apologetically to the cashier, and glanced at Brice, who was looking down at me with what I could only hope was interest.
“No, no, Court. It’s okay. After that last incident, I took out additional insurance on the place just for you.”
“You’re terrible. I’m not that bad,” I grumbled my cheeks beating again.
“You really are, but it’s okay. You’re one of my best customers.” Well, damn. And what exactly did that say about me to DJ hot pants that I was a best customer in a liquor store? Could this get worse?
Brice watched the conversation with interest. Shaking my head at Marco, I handed him my card to swipe to cover the purchases.
“Oh no, you don’t have to get mine,” Brice added.
Ignoring him completely, I pointed at my card. “Marco, don’t listen to him, please. The dry cleaning I’d probably have to pay for is probably more than his case of beer.”
I felt a large hand across the lower part of my back as I signed the receipt and we made our way out the door.
Brice carried both our cases and walked me to my car, watching me curiously. “Umm, thanks, for that. I probably would have tripped over my own feet and broke this one too.”
“Then just call me your knight in shining armor.”

The giant Elvis sign on the outside should have been the first clue that something was wrong. The chapel was awful. It was totally garish and everything was over the top. The pepto bismo pink walls had me cringing.

“This place is great,” Rissa laughed and I looked at her confused.

“Uh, princess? Are you seeing what I’m seeing?”

“Yeah, it’s completely hideous. It’s great.” She giggled and I couldn’t help but laugh along with her.

“It is completely hideous.” I said looking around at all the pink. That was the only way to describe it. The 1970s track lighting didn’t do it any favors. The pink shag carpeting just sealed the deal. It looked like a Mary Kay spokeswoman decorated the entire place.

There was a couple ahead of us and I was sure they were both heavily intoxicated because they were half asleep sitting on a bench leaning on each other.

I chuckled to myself when the little old lady with coke bottle glasses, and hair so gray it looked purple, came out and called their names three times before she walked over to them and smacked the guy across the knee with her cane, hard.

“Ow, what?” He looked around before waking his companion. They stumbled into the chapel and heavy organ music started playing.

I shook my head in defeat. Well if I had the weirdest bucket list on the planet this would be at the top and I could check that shit off right now.

“Welcome to Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. How can I help you?” A smoke roughened voice asked.

I looked down at the woman, but before I could get a word out Rissa bounced over.

“We wanna get married.” She giggled.

“I kind of figured that dear. It is what we do here.” The old woman smiled at her.

She hefted out a huge binder and began flipping through to the “Last minute” section. It was literally labeled that and I had to suppress a chuckle. It should really have been the drunk and irresponsible section, but I doubt it would have fit on the little tab on the side.

“Do you want pictures?” The woman asked.

“Of course,” we said at the same time and laughed.

“We can have digital prints done in an hour for a fee.” The woman said and I nodded.

We hammered out the rest of the details and waited. It wasn’t long before the woman called us back and I got a good look at the chapel itself. I did my best to control my laughter but it just wouldn’t stop. The curtains and all the decorations were a deep royal purple. It looked like a Barbie dream house threw up in there and the entire place clashed.

What really got me laughing though, was the wrinkled old man in the black wig decked out like the oldest Elvis impersonator of all time. Rissa looked over at me with wide eyes and burst into a fit of laughter herself.

I don’t know what I had been expecting, but the purple and gold wall hangings and the little old man with enough bling on his suit to moonlight as a disco ball on 70’s night at the club had not been it. Rissa was gasping for breath as she laughed with her whole body and I couldn’t believe we were doing that there.

We were there though and it was what we both wanted so we continued down the aisle and when we finally quit laughing Elvis began the ceremony.

“Uh-huh thank you very much,” he rasped in his best imitation of Elvis. I saw the little old woman taking pictures all around us and she rolled her eyes. I nearly lost it again but when I looked over at Rissa she had a beautiful smile on her face and all thoughts of laughter left. She looked truly happy and I didn’t want to do anything to ruin it.

We made it through the vows without so much as a giggle and when it came time for the rings I pulled out the diamond and she gasped, shaking her head.

“Cole, I told you to get the other one,” she whispered looking conflicted.

“I saw you looking at this one so I got it. I knew you wanted this one,” I replied softly and she smiled.

“Okay,” she sighed and we finished the ceremony.

I never felt better than when the little old Elvis told me to kiss the bride. It was the perfect wedding and even with the horrible décor and cheesy Elvis impersonator it was the perfect end to our crazy night.
