Special Edition Coffee with Characters

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself! Tell us who you are and what you do! Are you the main character in the story or a supporting role? What do you do for a living? How old are you?

1. Tell us about your story. What is it about and what role do you play?

Greetings. My name is Pryderi.
I am in TL’s 6th book which is yet to be published, so I’m not allowed to take part in her sexiest ‘book boy’ competition. She says it is not fair when her readers have not met me yet.

I am what you would call a vampire. I am the lead male. That is what TL says you would call me.

I’m a Watcher.
2. Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?

Distinguishable? My fangs, and my eyes that glow in the dark make me most different from humans. I am much like my own kind though, nothing special.
3. Do you have any birthmarks or tattoos?

I have my clan mark. It is like a tattoo. It is on my upper arm. Humans call the pattern a Celtic Knot. Ours have dragon heads in the knot too.
4. Would you ever want to go hang out with your author? If so, what would you do together?

TL seems like a lovely lady, but she is human. I do not think it would be permitted to spend much time with her.
5. If you could have a super power what would it be, and why?

I have everything I need, including a little magick. I suppose it would be nice to fly though.

6. What is your biggest pet peeve when dealing with others?

Having to wear a disguise when meeting humans. It is uncomfortable and makes it hard to talk.
7. What would I love the most about you?

I do not know. What do you value in people? I am very honest, maybe that?
8. What would I hate the most about you?

Humans would not like the way we hunt, I think. It is quite bloody.
9. Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?

TL is very fair. She was allowed special access into our camp to interview us, and get our story. She did a good job in telling our tale.

And Rhion made sure her memory of our location was wiped, so she cannot know how to find us again, so do not ask her.
10. What is your idea of a perfect day?

Any day that is spent with Kiera.
11. What is your greatest fear?

I have no fear.
12. Someone is secretly in love with you. Who is it and how do you feel about that?

That would be bad. I think they should fear for their safety if Kiera found out.
13. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A Watcher. I was destined to be one. It is a great honour.

14. If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

The same as I have always done; protect the clan. It is my duty.

15. What is the one food you can’t live without?

Blood. I apologise. I understand humans do not like this. But I cannot live without it.
16. If they turned the book into a movie, who would be cast to play you?

What is a movie?

Pardon me, I have asked Kiera and she says Ian Somerhalder.

Extra info – TL says that if you go to her blog you can read about her ‘meet the book boys’ features. There are four boys to meet (from her first four books): Mikhail, Ranulph, Jonathan and Joe.

Between 27 Feb – 05 Mar you can then go and vote for which one you think is sexiest on her Facebook page.

There are also photo albums for each of the boys on that page, showing their quotes.

This all sounds strange to me, but I am told you will understand the meaning of these words.
I asked Kiera to tell me about blog and Facebook. She rolled her eyes and told me not to worry.

Thank you for speaking with me.

Author Spotlight Julie Gerber with Away We Go Media!

51cigioccwl-_ux250_

Thank you for this interview Julie! I’d like to know more about you as a person first.  What do you do when you’re not writing?

I am at my desk, working on beta reading or social media campaigns for clients. When I am not working, I am either reading, watching movies with my kids, or daydreaming about moving to the beach.

When did you start writing?

I started writing in middle school. I published a piece in the newspaper and my mom said from that point on that I would be a writer one day. I didn’t believe her. Fast forward a few (okay maybe more than a few) years, and here I am!

As a published author, what would you say was the most pivotal point of your writing life?

The most pivotal point came about four years ago when I met Carole P. Roman. She made it look so easy. She was cranking out books and I was trying to keep up since I was managing her social media. She taught me a lot about writing and how to put yourself into a character’s mind. She has been a wonderful and inspiring mentor and friend.

ni

If you could go anywhere in the world to start writing your next book, where would that be and why?

Scotland or Ireland. I feel there is magic there and if I could sit in an old stone house (or even a castle if I could afford it) I think I could whip up the most enchanting tale ever written. That might be a stretch, but then again, it might not!

If you had 4 hours of extra time today, what would you do?

Sleep. I never get a full six to eight hours sleep and that is what I would do if I had the time. Can you arrange it?

Where would you like to set a story that you haven’t done yet?

I would like to set a story in Savannah, Georgia. Georgia is my home state, and there is so much about Savannah that begs to be written. I am fascinated every time I go.

Back to your present book, Navigating Indieworld, how did you publish it?

I published it with Carole P. Roman through Createspace. We were offered a contract to publish, but felt that the book, which is about self-publishing and marketing, should be done the indie way.

In writing your book, did you travel anywhere for research?

I did not, but maybe I should have. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to meet up with Carole in some indie bookstore after splurging on ice cream.

Why was writing Navigating Indieworld so important to you?

This book was very near and dear to my heart. I have had so many authors find me over the years because they needed advice after being burned by a vanity publisher. This book was created for all of them. It was created for anyone struggling with marketing and selling their books. It was created for the people that were brave enough to write their stories down and then stare at them, wondering what they should do next. I hope we have helped aspiring authors and the published authors that wondered what was next.

Where do you get your best ideas and why do you think that is?

I get my ideas from experiences. Navigating Indieworld is based on daily experiences and other author’s frustrations.

What are you currently working on? Do you have any new projects released in the coming months? If so, tell us about them.

I am working on my first solo book. It is based on the story of my great aunt, one of the first women to become a doctor in the mountains of North Carolina. I think her story is one that should be told and I believe it will be appreciated.

Part II

These are the super fun get to know the author questions. Basically similar to Would you rather.

Q: Winter or Summer? Summer! I hate the cold!

Q: Salad or Soup? Soup. I love soup!

Q: Swimming in a lake or the ocean?? Ocean! I would rather deal with a shark than an alligator.

Q: Coffee or Soda? Soda. I hate coffee, but I do love the way it smells.

Q: Cruise or Resort? Resort. Hands down. I would hate to get stuck on a ship with a lot of sick people!
